Orland Park ranked 610th in state in lottery ticket sales

The village of Orland Park had the 610th highest lottery ticket net sales statewide per capita for the month of April 2016 -- up 33 spots from its March ranking.

The per capita lottery ticket sales in Orland Park was $13.11 per person.

Based on monthly sales records obtained by the South Cook News, Orland Park generated $768,398.50 in net sales from its 21 lottery retailers in April 2016, compared to $771,969.50 in April 2015.


The village of Orland Park is in Cook County, and has a population of 58,619, according to 2010 census data. Neighboring municipalities are Mokena, Tinley Park, Palos Park, Palos Heights, Oak Forest, Homer Glen and Orland Hills.

Average sales for municipalities in the region in April 2016 was $42,434.13.

Statewide, the top five cities with the highest lottery revenue per capita were Forest View, Burnt Prairie, McCook, Mapleton and Merrionette Park.

The top five cities in the state generated $5,496,719 in net sales -- 1 percent of the state's 2015 net sales amounting to $2,793,271,709.50.
