Analysis: Flossmoor pays $6.94 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Flossmoor Firefighters Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 87.4 percent of the $287,826 the Flossmoor Firefighters Pension Fund brought in last year, or $6.94 for every $1 from pension members, according to a South Cook News analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Flossmoor contributed $251,619 to the fund, which saw a $76,258 increase in revenue over 2015. Members contributed $36,207, or 12.6 percent, in 2016.
