Analysis: Harvey pays $1.22 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Harvey Firefighters Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 55.3 percent of the $720,720 the Harvey Firefighters Pension Fund brought in last year, or $1.22 for every $1 from pension members, according to a South Cook News analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Harvey contributed $398,566 to the fund, which saw a $341,917 decrease in revenue over 2015. Members contributed $325,795, or 45.2 percent, in 2016.
