Analysis: Lansing pays $4.62 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Lansing Firefighters Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 82.6 percent of the $1,225,971 the Lansing Firefighters Pension Fund brought in last year, or $4.62 for every $1 from pension members, according to a South Cook News analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Lansing contributed $1,012,630 to the fund, which saw a $100,663 increase in revenue over 2015. Members contributed $218,944, or 17.9 percent, in 2016.
