Analysis: Markham pays $3.62 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Markham Police Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 78.3 percent of the $1,220,119 the Markham Police Pension Fund brought in last year, or $3.62 for every $1 from pension members, according to a South Cook News analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Markham contributed $955,232 to the fund, which saw a $110,887 decrease in revenue over 2015. Members contributed $263,551, or 21.6 percent, in 2016. Another $1,336 came from other unspecified sources.
