Analysis: Riverdale pays $3.38 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Riverdale Police Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 77.6 percent of the $947,782 the Riverdale Police Pension Fund brought in last year, or $3.38 for every $1 from pension members, according to a South Cook News analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Riverdale contributed $735,142 to the fund, which saw a $239,090 decrease in revenue over 2015. Members contributed $217,213, or 22.9 percent, in 2016.
