Report: Community High School District 218 spent $22,430 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Community High School District 218 is up 35 percent from five years ago, according to a South Cook News analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Cook County school district spent $16,557 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $22,430 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 5384 to 5262.

Community High School District 218's spending in 2016-17 was 73 percent higher than the state average of $12,973.
