Graduates earn 597 degrees, certificates from South Suburban College

About 34.7 percent of the 597 degrees and certificates handed out by the South Suburban College in 2016-17 were to students in Health Professions and Related Programs programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the public institution in Holland conferred 136 certificates and 71 associate's degrees in Health Professions and Related Programs programs.

But the single most popular program was for a associate's degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences/Liberal Studies. Data shows the school gave out 115 associate's degrees in Liberal Arts and Sciences/Liberal Studies, followed by 105 associate's degrees in Biological and Physical Sciences and 59 certificates in Nursing Assistant/Aide and Patient Care Assistant/Aide.

The college enrolled 3,703 students for 2016-17, all of whom were enrolled in undergraduate programs.
