Chicago Ridge Headquarters responded to 423 calls in 2017 - 31.8 percent more than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Chicago Ridge Headquarters included 70 fires - 41 structure fires, five vehicle fires and 24 other fires. The fire department also responded to seven calls for ruptures, explosions or overheating.

In all, the department saw $344,650 in fire loss - or about $4,924 per fire.

The department also received 346 false calls, including 27 malicious calls and 319 other false calls.
