Sauk Village Fire Department responded to 179 calls in 2017 - 24.2 percent less than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Sauk Village included 33 fires - 16 structure fires, eight vehicle fires and nine other fires. The fire department also responded to three calls for ruptures, explosions or overheating.

In all, the department saw $300,823 in fire loss - or about $9,116 per fire.

The department also received 143 false calls.

One fire service member was injured in fire-related incidents.
