Syrian Amercian Medical Society issued the following announcement on Sept. 19.

Last month, SAMS #Lebanon programs supported over 1,100 #Syrian refugees with needed medical care.

The SAMS-supported Diabetic Project offered more than 3,000 free medical services to 652 Syrian refugees in August 2018. These services included medication referrals, lab analyses, examinations, and medical consultations provided by our implementing partners Multi Aid Programs - MAPS.

The Gihrass Alkair Center continued to provide quality, dignified services to those in need as well: the Radiology Department served 390 patients during this period, while the Physical Therapy Department provided over 615 free treatment sessions to 67 new patients and successfully rehabilitated 73% of patients who visited the department last month.

As these services are provided free of charge, SAMS-supported programs in Lebanon continue to be a vital source of healthcare access for Syrian refugees in the country.
