Report: Community High School District 218 spent $20,992 per student in 2017-18

Spending per pupil at Community High School District 218 is up 24.4 percent from five years ago, according to a South Cook News analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2017-18 report card shows the Cook County school district spent $16,879 per pupil in 2013-14. It spent $20,992 in 2017-18.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 5597 to 5405.

Community High School District 218's spending in 2017-18 was 57.4 percent higher than the state average of $13,337.
