The price of local government in 2017: Village of Evergreen Park

The Village of Evergreen Park budget was $38.26 million for its 2017 fiscal year, or $4,940 per household.

That's an increase of 2.4 percent from 2016, when the village spent $37.35 million, or $4,822 per household.

Evergreen Park has 7,746 households and a population of 19,852.

Since 2001, the Village of Evergreen Park budget has grown by 49.5 percent, from $25.59 million. The village population has fallen 4.7 percent over the same period, from 20,821.

Salaries accounted for 38.4 percent of village spending in 2017. Evergreen Park property taxpayers paid $14.69 million for 153 full-time employees and 314 part-time employees.
