Former state university employee Fields Daley paid in $24K to pension fund, could collect $769K in retirement

Former state university employee Joanne Fields Daley, who retired in March 2017, saved $23,608 toward a pension over 14 years working for state universities, State Universities Retirement System of Illinois records show.

Over 30 years of retirement, Fields Daley would collect as much as $769,328, according to a projection by Local Government Information Services (LGIS), which publishes South Cook News.

The projection assumes Fields Daley received $16,170 in the first year of retirement, then 3 percent annual increases thereafter, compounded.

After 2 years of retirement, Fields Daley will have already received $32,825 in retirement benefits, or more than the sum total of the retiree's contributions to the state pension fund.
