Q1 2019 Recap: Parolees in Chicago Heights convicted of homicide

There were two offenders convicted of homicide released on parole in Chicago Heights during the first quarter, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by the South Cook News.

The data shows that both of the released offenders in Chicago Heights were men. The younger parolee was a 40-year-old man sentenced in 1999. The other was a 40-year-old man sentenced in 1997.

The offender who was incarcerated the longest was Daniel Moran. He was convicted of homicide in 1997 when he was 19 years old. He is now 40.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The table below shows the cities in Illinois with the most paroled offenders in Q1 2019 who were convicted of homicide.
