Village of Evergreen Park issued the following announcement on July 24.
On Sunday July 21, 2019 at 7:19 pm the Evergreen Park Police Department responded to the 9100 block of S St Louis Avenue on a report of shots fired.
Upon arrival responding Officers located a male gunshot victim who was transported to Advocate Christ Medical Center; 4440 W 95th St Oak Lawn IL by the Evergreen Park Fire Department. The victim; Aladin Jamaleddin 25 years of age of the 9100 block of S St louis Avenue in Evergreen Park IL; was pronounced dead at 7:52 pm.
An individual has been identified in this incident by the South Suburban Major Crimes Task Force. This individual is a male juvenile from the City Of Chicago. We are unable to release any further information at this time concerning the incident or the offender as this remains an ongoing investigation.
The Evergreen Park Police Department wishes to inform the residents we believe this is an isolated incident between two individuals who were acquainted with one another. We do not believe there is further risk to our community.
