Village of Tinley Park issued the following announcement on Sept. 27.
Mayor Jacob Vandenberg joined former Tinley Park mayors Edward J. Zabrocki and David Seaman, as well as former Village Clerk Patrick Rea, to honor and remember the late Prince Ferdinand and his wife Elizabeth, both of whom helped establish the Sister Cities relationship between Tinley Park and Budingen, Germany.
Budingen Prince Ludwig zu Ysenburg, Princess Chantal Toelle and their children were on hand for the event, which included laying a ceremonial wreath next to Prince Ferdinand’s memorial stone outside Village Hall.
