Village of Park Forest issued the following announcement on Dec. 16.
Celebrate the new decade with a healthy start and reconnect with nature after the busy holidays!
The Park Forest Recreation and Parks Advisory Board invites you to join them in the “First Day in Nature” walk through the Central Park Wetlands (North Orchard St.) on Wednesday, January 1, 2020 from 10 am to Noon.
Naturalist Michelle Oconnor will introduce us to winter birding and teach us how to recycle our household “trash” into bird feeders. If there is snow, we encourage you to bring sleds, cross country skis, and/or snow shoes. We will then gather around a fire pit roasting marshmallows and drinking hot chocolate.
Meet at the Central Park Pavilion on Lakewood Blvd.
