Village of Palos Fine Arts Board met Jan. 16.

Attenance: D. Pavlatos, Julea Joseph, Connie Chronis, Bev Opelka, Linda Kirby, Kathy Williams, Joyce Penney, Joyce Eul
Meeting was called to order at 4:00 pm.

Financial Report for Nov/Dec: Income $ 60.26
Expenses $157.74
Balance as of December 31, 2019 $18,896.28
Membership: 98 Members. Total income from membership-$6910
Architectural Tour: Joyce E found a new tour company “My Kind of Town” tours, who submitted three different tour options. After some discussion on which to pick, one was chosen-“Bridgeport Renaissance”. The date chosen will be a Wednesday, May 6th. Joyce will let the tour company know and proceed.
Foreign Film: Has been picked by Joyce Penney. Date is April 8, 2020 at Palos Heights Library. The film is “Farewell”.
Scholarships: Kathy W. stated scholarship materials have been sent out. So far there was one with a question and one inquiring about boarders. We will do three (3) $800 scholarships.
Old Business: Julea started a discussion on our next Palos Reads. Much discussion followed as to whether to host one in October and what can we do to keep within our budget. “Support Local Artists” was mentioned going with a local author. Julea and Connie will bring is up with the Libraries.
New Business: Committee list was passed around by D.
Julea stated that Rene (from Palos Library) is now with McCord and has asked if we would like to partner an event with them. Discussion followed and it was mentioned that in the past PFA hosted a “Palos Collects”. People could showcase their art in an exhibit at McCord. Julea will present this to Rene.
Bev distributed a list of attendees at our “Holiday Thank You” gathering. Motion to adjourn meeting at 5:00 pm by Julea and seconded by Kathy. Next meting: Thursday, February 20, 2020. It will be hosted by Connie.
