City of Burbank City Council met May 13.

Here is the minutes provided by the council:

The meeting was called to order at 7:30 PM by Mayor Dan M. Foy in the Council Chambers at 6530 West 79h Street Burbank Il.

Mayor Foy requested a roll call which indicated the following members present: Alderwoman Barb Gagle, Alderman Robert Contreras (via Zoom), Alderwoman Sheri Gustafson (via Zoom), Alderman Claude Haerr, Alderman John Pacella, Alderman Mitchell Piznarski, Alderman Jason Pyle (via Zoom), Mayor Dan M. Foy, Clerk Barry J. Szymczak, Treasurer Dean Viverito (via Zoom) and City Attorney Vince Cainkar (via Zoom).

Mayor Foy then asked all to rise for the Pledge of Allegiance.

Mayor Foy asked for a motion to approve the minutes of March 11,2020. The motion was made by Alderman Haerr and seconded by Alderwoman Gagle with unanimous approval by voice vote and so declared by the Chair.

Mayor Foy then asked for a motion to approve the current list of bills. The motion was made by Alderman Pizrarski and seconded by Alderman Pacella. A roll call indicated 7 Ayes and 0 Nays.

Voting Aye: Alderwoman Gagle, Alderman Contreras, Alderwoman Gustafson, Alderman Haerr, Alderman Pacella, Alderman Piznarski and Alderman Pyle.

Clerk Srymczak attended a bid opening on Friday March 20ft at l0:00 AM in Council Chambers in reference to the 2020 Bituminous Asphalt program. The following companies submitted bids:

Lindahl Brothers S26,000.00 ($52.00 per ton)

($50.00 dump per load)

Clerk Szymczak also attended a bid opening on Friday May 8th at 10:00 AM in Council Chambers in reference to the 2020 Parkway Fence lnstallation Project adjacent to the Woodspring Suites Hotel. The following companies submitted bids:

Century Fence Co. of Illinois $71,035.00

Action Fence Contractors $75,000.00

Clerk Srymczak reported that City Hall will be closed on Monday May 25, 2020 in commemoration of Memorial Day.

Mayor Foy asked for a motion to approve the new contract agreement reached between the City of Burbank and the Service employees-Local No. 73 effective January 1. 2020 and expiring Dec' 31, 2024. The motion was made by Alderwoman Gagle and seconded by Alderman Contreras. A roll call indicated 7 Ayes and 0 Nays. Voting Aye: Alderwoman Gagle, Alderman Contreras' Alderwoman Gustafson, Alderman Haen, Alderman Pacella, Alderman Piznarski and Alderman Pyle.

Alderman Robert Contreras made a motion seconded by Alderman Haerr to award Century Fence Company of Illinois as low bidder for the 2020 Parkway Fence Installation Project adjacent to the Woodspiing Suites Hotel property in the amount of $71,035.00. A roll call indicated 7 Ayes and 0 Nays. Voting Aye: Alderwoman Gagle, Alderman Contreras, Alderwoman Gustafson, Alderman Halrr, Alderman Pacella, Alderman Piznarski and Alderman Pyle'

Alderman Mitch Piznarski made a motion seconded by Alderman Pacella to award Lindahl Brothers as low bidder for the 2020 Bituminous Asphalt program in the amount of $26,000.00 ($52.00 per ton / $50.00 dump per load). A roll call indicated 7 Ayes and 0 Nays. Voting Aye: Alderwoman Gagle, Alderman Contreras, Alderwoman Gustafson, Alderman Haerr, Alderman Pacella, Alderman Piznarski and Alderman Pyle'

Chief Dave Gilgenberg II informed Cit-v Council that his Department has prepared an Incident Action plan on mitigation during the pandemic and it has been distributed to Council and Department heads.

Mayor Foy stated that McDonald's held a First Responders Appreciation Day on May l3s which was very successful.

The Mayor also attended a presentation of PPE equipment to the Burbank Fire Department by the Cook County Board. President Toni Preckwinkle was in attendance along with members from Emergency Management and the Illinois National Guard'

The Mayor informed City Council that most summer City projects would be put on hold except for the re-surfacing project on 78* Street. These funds were previously allocated for the project and do not affect expenditures during this crisis.

Mayor Foy also informed the Council that the 50th Anniversary party for the City scheduled for the weekend ofJune 26s has been cancelled.

The Mayor stated that Tony's Finer Foods is holding a job fair this week and is committed to hire al least 250 employees from the Burbank area.

The City of Burbank wishes to extend its condolences to the family of Alderman Robert Contreras.

The sister of Alderman Contreras' wife passed away out of state as a result of the corona virus'

There being no further business, the Chair asked for a motion to adjourn. The motion was made by Alderman Contreras and seconded by Alderman Haerr with unanimous voice approval and so declared by the Chair.

The meeting was adjourned at 7:45 P.M.
