Analysis: Matteson pays $4.31 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Matteson Firefighters Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 80.9 percent of the $1,665,014 the Matteson Firefighters Pension Fund brought in 2018, or $4.31 for every $1 from pension members, according to a South Cook News analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Matteson contributed $1,347,285 to the fund, which saw a $342,673 increase in revenue over 2017. Members contributed $312,205, or 18.8 percent, in 2018. Another $5,524 came from other unspecified sources.
