Analysis: Lansing pays $5.99 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Lansing Police Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 85.6 percent of the $4,357,105 the Lansing Police Pension Fund brought in 2018, or $5.99 for every $1 from pension members, according to a South Cook News analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Lansing contributed $3,727,904 to the fund, which saw a $412,206 increase in revenue over 2017. Members contributed $621,796, or 14.3 percent, in 2018. Another $7,405 came from other unspecified sources.
