Analysis: Harvey pays $6.29 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Harvey Firefighters Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 86.3 percent of the $2,036,266 the Harvey Firefighters Pension Fund brought in 2018, or $6.29 for every $1 from pension members, according to a South Cook News analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Harvey contributed $1,756,758 to the fund, which saw a $92,413 decrease in revenue over 2017. Members contributed $279,256, or 13.7 percent, in 2018. Another $252 came from other unspecified sources.
