Calumet Park Fire District responded to 347 calls in 2018 - 4.4 percent less than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Calumet Park included 82 fires - 50 structure fires, 17 vehicle fires and 15 other fires. The fire department also responded to four calls for ruptures, explosions or overheating.

In all, the department saw $1,801,758 in fire loss - or about $21,973 per fire.

The department also received 261 false calls, including 29 malicious calls and 232 other false calls.

The calls resulted in one civilian fire-related death.
