Richton Park Fire District responded to 251 calls in 2018 - 13.7 percent less than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Richton Park included 58 fires - 46 structure fires, four vehicle fires and eight other fires. The fire department also responded to one call for ruptures, explosions or overheating.

In all, the department saw $1,432,120 in fire loss - or about $24,692 per fire.

The department also received 192 false calls, including two malicious calls and 190 other false calls.

The calls resulted in one civilian fire-related death. Additionally, one fire service member was injured in fire-related incidents and one was injured in non fire-related incidents.
