Village of South Chicago Heights Board of Trustees met Nov. 2.

Regular meeting was held at the Village Hall, 3317 Chicago Road, South Chicago Heights, Illinois. Mayor Matthews called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. and the Pledge of Allegiance followed. Mayor Matthews requested Clerk Linan to call roll. The following were present:

APPROVAL OF MEETING MINUTES: Trustee Marrufo motioned to approve the Regular Board of Trustee meeting minutes of October 19, 2020 with one correction that Jesse Kozinski was present, seconded by Trustee Bosco. There being no further discussion, the roll call vote being:
Ayes: Terry Fiorenzo, Eugene Fazzini, Eric Stanton, Sally Marrufo, & Tracy Bosco.
Nays: None.
Abstain: None.
Absent: Trustee Ross.

PUBLIC COMMENT: None
APPROVAL OF THE MANUAL CHECK LIST OF OCTOBER 31, 2020: Trustee Marrufo motioned to approve the manual check list of October 31, 2020 seconded, by Trustee Bosco. There being no further discussion, the roll call vote being:

APPROVAL OF THE BILL LIST OF NOVEMBER 2, 2020: Trustee Marrufo motioned to approve the bill list of November 2, 2020 seconded, by Trustee Fiorenzo. There being no further discussion, the roll call vote being:

TRUSTEE/COMMITTEE REPORTS:
Fire Chief Vlietstra stated that there were 135 calls for service in October and that 102 were for EMS and 33 were for fire.
Police Chief Joyce summarized the multiple agencies that are participating in logistical planning such as IEMA, ISP, ILEAS, and Cook County for election day, post-election days and cyber security. Chief Joyce stated that the South Suburban Mobile Field Force will be activated to assist with crowd control and that his perspective is that operations will proceed as it did during the civil unrest earlier this summer.
ated that during the month of October the police department responded to 631 calls for police service which is less than the previous 3 months that were over 700 calls. Lieutenant Kozinski stated that Halloween patrol went well and that they assisted Steger with a fatal crash where an 8-year-old child died.
Public Works Director Martin stated that his department has had since January: 13 water main breaks, fixed 2 water main repairs, did 2 valve replacements, did 3 valve repairs, repaired 6 B boxes, repaired 2 sanitary short lines, and repaired 8 sanitary sewer.

RESOLUTION 2020-R-24: A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE OF SOUTH CHICAGO HEIGHTS, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS, AUTHORIZING AND APPROVING THE EXECUTION OF THE COMPRESSOR BID QUOTATION BETWEEN THE VILLAGE AND AIR ONE EQUIPMENT, INC. FOR THE PURCHASE OF THE NEW STATION BREATHING AIR SUPPLY SYSTEM: Mayor Matthews presented the resolution. Trustee Fazzini motioned to approve the resolution seconded, by Trustee Ross. There being no further discussion, the roll call vote being:

MAYOR'S REPORT: Mayor Matthews read a thank you card from the family of Evelyne Ross. Mayor Matthews announced that the Village would be assisting Alicia's House with the distribution of 50 Thanksgiving and Christmas food baskets and ask for any volunteers.
ADJOURNMENT: With nothing further to discuss, Trustee Stanton motioned to adjourn the Regular meeting, seconded by Trustee Fiorenzo. On a voice vote, all ayes, no nays; the motion so ordered. Meeting adjourned at 7:24 p.m.
