Village of South Chicago Heights Board of Trustees met June 21.

Regular meeting was held at the Village Hall, 3317 Chicago Road, South Chicago Heights, Illinois. Mayor Matthews called the meeting to order at 7:30 pm. and the Pledge of Allegiance followed. Mayor Matthews requested Clerk Linan to call roll.
APPROVAL OF MEETING MINUTES: Trustee Marrufo motioned to approve the Regular Board of Trustee meeting minutes of June 7, 2021, seconded by Trustee Bosco. There being no further discussion, the roll call vote being: Ayes: Terry Fiorenzo, Eric Stanton, Sally Marrufo, Tracy Bosco, & John Ross. Nays: None. Abstain: None. Absent: Trustee Fazzini. Motion carried 5 to 0.
APPOINTMENT - FIRE & POLICE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS: PAUL PAPPALARDO: Mayor Matthews read a resignation letter from Tashina Johnson who was appointed approximately one year ago. Mayor Matthews introduced Paul Pappalardo and gave a summary of his experience and stated that Paul is a lifelong resident of South Chicago Heights. Trustee Ross motioned to approve the appointment of Paul Pappalardo to the Fire & Police Board of Commissioners, seconded by Trustee Fiorenzo. There being no further discussion, the roll call vote being: Ayes: Terry Fiorenzo, Eric Stanton, Sally Marrufo, Tracy Bosco, & John Ross. Nays: None. Abstain: None. Absent: Trustee Fazzini. Motion carried 5 to 0.
Clerk Linan swore in Paul Pappalardo.
PUBLIC COMMENT: None.
APPROVAL OF THE BILL LIST OF JUNE 21, 2021: Trustee Bosco motioned to approve the bill list of June 21, 2021, seconded by Trustee Marrufo. There being no further discussion, the roll call vote being: Ayes: Terry Fiorenzo, Eric Stanton, Sally Marrufo, Tracy Bosco, & John Ross. Nays: None. Abstain: None. Absent: Eugene Fazzini. Motion carried 5 to 0.
TRUSTEE/COMMITTEE REPORTS: Trustee Marrufo announced the Village Wide Yard sale will be held on July 8th, 9th & 10th and you must call Village Hall to add your address to our list that will be distributed to Walgreens and Jewel.
Finance Director Dolasinski announced that the Fiscal Year 2020 Audit is completed and that GW & Associates was invited to the next regular meeting to present the 2020 Fiscal Year Audit.
Fire Chief Vlietstra summarized stated that there were 134 calls for fire service in May, 54 v fire services and 80 were for fire that occurred in Steger on June 16, 2021 and that his crew was first on scene and rescued someone from the fire. Chief Vlietstra stated that his staff did an outstanding job. Fire Chief Vlietstra announced that his department was awarded a Small Tools Grant in the amount of $26,000.00 from the Illinois State Fire Marshall with no cost sharing for the Village.

RESOLUTION 2021-R-22: A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE OF SOUTH CHICAGO HEIGHTS, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS, SUPPORTING A CLASS 8 REAL ESTATE TAX ASSESSMENT CLASSIFICATION APPLICATION BY GENERATOR TECHNOLOGIES, INC., LOCATED AT 3310 HOLEMAN AVENUE, VILLAGE OF SOUTH CHICAGO HEIGHTS, ILLINOIS: Mayor Matthews presented the resolution. Trustee Ross motioned to approve the resolution, seconded by Trustee Stanton. There being no further discussion, the roll call vote being: Ayes: Terry Fiorenzo, Eric Stanton, Sally Marrufo, Tracy Bosco, & John Ross. Nays: None. Abstain: None. Absent: Eugene Fazzini. Motion carried 5 to 0.
RESOLUTION 2021-R-23: A RESOLUTION FOR MAINTENANCE UNDER THE ILLINOIS HIGHWAY CODE: Mayor Matthews presented the resolution. Trustee Stanton motioned to approve the resolution, seconded by Trustee Fiorenzo. There being no further discussion, the roll call vote being: Ayes: Terry Fiorenzo, Eric Stanton, Sally Marrufo, Tracy Bosco, & John Ross. Nays: None. Abstain: None. Absent: Eugene Fazzini. Motion carried 5 to 0.
RESOLUTION 2021-24: A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE OF SOUTH CHICAGO HEIGHTS, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS, AUTHORIZING AND APPROVING THE EXECUTION OF AN AGREEMENT WITH COMCAST OF ILLINOIS I, LLC: Mayor Matthews presented the resolution. Trustee Stanton motioned to approve the resolution, seconded by Trustee Fiorenzo. There being no further discussion, the roll call vote being: Ayes: Terry Fiorenzo, Eric Stanton, Sally Marrufo, Tracy Bosco, & John Ross. Nays: None. Abstain: None. Absent: Eugene Fazzini. Motion carried 5 to 0.
BUSINESS LICENSE - Steve and Margie Gibson of Generator Technologies located at 3310 Holeman Avenue explained their business and stated that they found a location in South Chicago Heights to locate their business permanently. Mayor Matthews stated that once the building is approved for occupancy a license could be issued.

ADJOURNMENT: With nothing further to discuss, Trustee Stanton motioned to adjourn the Regular Board of Trustee meeting, seconded by Trustee Bosco. On a voice vote, all ayes, no nays; the motion so ordered. Meeting adjourned at 7:51 p.m.
