Report: Matteson School District spent $15,555 per student in 2019-20

Spending per pupil at Matteson Elementary School District 162 was up 13.9 percent from five years ago, according to the South Cook News analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2019-20 report card showed the Cook County school district spent $13,657 per pupil in 2015-16. It spent $15,555 in 2019-20.

The district's enrollment fell from 2,799 to 2,559 students over the same period.

Matteson's spending in 2019-20 was 7.3 percent higher than the state average of $14,492.
