SIERT CONTINUES TO IMPROVE IN POOL TO LEAD SPARTANS

Written By Brian Frangella, OLCHS Staff Writer

Breaking the one-minute mark in the 100-yard butterfly has been a goal for Dillon Siert as captain of the boys swim team at Oak Lawn Community High School. And he recently did it with a :59.50 to set his personal record. He also set a personal record in the 200-yard Individual Medley with a time of 2:22. Both of these personal best times have come in the last two meets.

Now he is looking to continue to improve on this success as the Spartans approach the South Suburban Conference meet and the Illinois High School Association Sectional meet coming up in February.

“Dillon is one of the senior captains on the team and is a major reason for this season’s success,” said head coach Derek Maciaga. “He works hard every day, gives advice to other swimmers, and is willing to swim any event that will help the team out.”
