Report: Hazel Crest School District spent $15,218 per student in 2019-20

Spending per pupil at Hazel Crest School District 152.5 was up 16.1 percent from five years ago, according to the South Cook News analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2019-20 report card showed the Cook County school district spent $13,105 per pupil in 2015-16. It spent $15,218 in 2019-20.

The district's enrollment fell from 1,018 to 890 students over the same period.

Hazel Crest's spending in 2019-20 was 5 percent higher than the state average of $14,492.
