Village of Bedford Park Village Board met Jan. 20.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

The Special Meeting of the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Bedford Park was held at 6:00 p.m., in the President’s Office of the Municipal Complex and via telephone conference due to the COVID-19 pandemic per social distancing standards. President Brady led all present in the Pledge of Allegiance.

PRESENT AT THE MEETING: President Brady, Village Clerk Solis, Trustees: Rubel, Kensik, Errant (via phone), Stocks, Wesolowski, and Pallardy.

ABSENT: None.

ALSO IN ATTENDANCE: Village Attorney Larry Gryczewski and Fire Chief Sean Maloy.

VISITORS: None.

VISITOR’S COMMENTS: None.

AGENDA-PURPOSE OF MEETING:

Motion by Rubel, second by Wesolowski, approval to accept additional applicants to add to the secondary hiring eligibility list comprised of full-time certified police officers with modified hiring rules relating to requirements, qualifications, and selection.

ROLL CALL VOTE: Ayes: Rubel, Kensik, Errant, Stocks, Wesolowski and Pallardy Nays: None Absent: None.

MOTION CARRIED

Request an offer of conditional employment as a Police Officer to Brian Staatz with a start date of March 7, 2022 pending successful completion of pre-employment testing.

ROLL CALL VOTE: Ayes: Rubel, Kensik, Errant, Stocks, Wesolowski and Pallardy Nays: None Absent: None.

MOTION CARRIED

Request the release of a Request for Proposals (RFP) for the installation of automated license plate reading (ALPR) cameras on the West side of Cicero Avenue in the areas of 65th Street, 67th Street, and 73rd Street.

ROLL CALL VOTE: Ayes: Rubel, Kensik, Errant, Stocks, Wesolowski and Pallardy Nays: None Absent: None.

MOTION CARRIED

Motion by Stocks, second by Wesolowski, authorization to hire Jacob Litkenhus for the position of Firefighter/paramedic with a start date of February 14, 2022 pending successfully completing the pre employment testing.

ROLL CALL VOTE: Ayes: Kensik, Errant, Stocks, Wesolowski and Pallardy Nays: None Absent: None. Abstain: Rubel

Motion by Stocks, second by Wesolowski, approval to offer conditional employment to Jacob Litkenhus for the position of Firefighter/paramedic with a start date of February 14, 2022 pending successfully completing the pre-employment testing.

ROLL CALL VOTE: Ayes: Kensik, Errant, Stocks, Wesolowski and Pallardy Nays: None Absent: None. Abstain: Rubel

Motion by Stock, second by Pallardy, approval of the proposal and subsequent invoice from Associates Technical Services, LTD to perform a leak survey to the entire water works system for a total cost of $12,038.40.

ROLL CALL VOTE: Ayes: Rubel, Kensik, Errant, Stocks, Wesolowski and Pallardy Nays: None Absent: None.

Motion by Rubel, second by Kensik, approval for President Brady to execute the Phase I ESA for 71st and Harlem and subsequent invoice for $3,500.00.

ROLL CALL VOTE: Ayes: Rubel, Kensik, Errant, Stocks, Wesolowski and Pallardy Nays: None Absent: None.

Motion by Pallardy, second by Rubel, approval to close the Regular Board Meeting.

Motion by Rubel, second by Pallardy, approval to enter into Executive Session pursuant to the requirements of the Illinois Open Meetings Act under Exemptions 5 ILCS 120/2 (c) to discuss personnel.

ROLL CALL VOTE: Ayes: Rubel, Kensik, Errant, Stocks, Wesolowski and Pallardy Nays: None Absent: None.

MOTION CARRIED

Motion by Rubel, second by Pallardy, approval to re-open Regular Board Meeting.

ROLL CALL VOTE: Ayes: Rubel, Kensik, Errant, Stocks, Wesolowski and Pallardy Nays: None Absent: None.

Motion by Stocks, second by Rubel, approval to offer conditional employment to Rory Doss for the position of Director of Vehicle Services at a starting salary of $90,000 including village benefits pending successfully completing the pre-employment testing.

ROLL CALL VOTE: Ayes: Rubel, Kensik, Errant, Stocks, Wesolowski and Pallardy Nays: None Absent: None.

MOTION CARRIED

Motion by Stocks, second by Wesolowski, should Rory Doss decline the job offer, approval to open up the position of Director of Vehicle Services and accept resumes again until the position is filled.

ROLL CALL VOTE: Ayes: Rubel, Kensik, Errant, Stocks, Wesolowski and Pallardy Nays: None Absent: None.

MOTION CARRIED
