Ace Hardware in Steger to give away American flags

Ace Hardware in Steger will give away free American flags on Saturday, May 28 to honor the Memorial Day holiday.

Illinois lost 1,436 soldiers in the Korean war and 1,854 in the Vietnam conflict.

Consumers visiting the store at 17 E 34th St, Steger will receive a free 8’ by 12’ American flag. A second will be donated to the local VFW Steger Honor 11 Post to be used for marking veterans’ graves on Memorial Day.

This year, Ace Hardware Corporation aims to again give away more than one million American flags nationally. Last year, it gave away more than 500,000 to Ace customers and more than 550,000 to more than 1,900 VFW Posts.

Flags will be available at Ace Hardware in Steger while quantities last. Each consumer is limited to one free flag; no purchase is necessary.

Ace Hardware in Steger is located at 17 E 34th St, Steger, Illinois. This location is owned by Joseph F. Verbeeren, represented by James Grillo and managed by Nancy Verbeeren.
