There have been 613,315 confirmed coronavirus cases in Cook County as of May 25, with 7,015 deaths linked to the virus, according to data from the state Department of Public Health (IDPH).

Cook County (613,315 cases) and Chicago (609,707 cases) posted the highest numbers statewide. Cook County's death toll from the virus stands at 7,015, while Chicago recorded 7,402 deaths, according to the IDPH.

Illinois residents who have been tested for COVID-19 now number 0, the department reported. And the age group with the most confirmed cases was under 20, with 738,437 people in the age group testing positive for the virus.

Among all those testing positive in Illinois, 1,514,952 were male and 1,712,556 were female, the IDPH said. Male deaths linked to coronavirus numbered 18,474, while female deaths stood at 15,322.

Broken down according to race, the fatalities consisted of 21,265 whites, 6,224 African-Americans, 4,683 Hispanics, 1,041 Asians, and 583 belonging to other races or who did not provide their ethnicity before they died.
