City of Palos Heights Finance Committee met May 11

City of Palos Heights Finance Committee met May 11.

Here are the minutes provided by the committee:

CALL TO ORDER 

Chairman McGrogan called the Finance Committee meeting to order at 6:09 p.m. In attendance were Aldermen Bylut, Alderman Key, City Treasurer Jim Daemicke, City Administrator David Strohl, Police Chief George Yott, Deputy Police Chief Mike Yott, Deputy Police Chief Bill Czajkowski, and Labor Attorney Mark Bennett. Absent was Alderman McGovern.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES 

Alderman Bylut made a motion to approve the minutes of the Finance Committee meeting held on March 8, 2022, seconded by Alderman Key. On a voice vote, the motion passed unanimously.

APPROVAL OF THOMAS BROWN BILLS 

Alderman McGrogan presented the Thomas Brown bills in the amount of $2,300.

Alderman Key moved to accept the Thomas Brown bills in the amount of $2,300, seconded by Alderman Bylut. On a voice vote, the motion passed unanimously.

APPROVAL OF MORRIS ENGINEERING BILLS 

Alderman McGrogan presented the Morris Engineering bills in the amount of $3,457.

Alderman Key moved to accept the Morris Engineering bills in the amount of $3,457, seconded by Alderman Bylut. On a voice vote, the motion passed unanimously.

EXTENSION OF AND AMENDMENT TO VOLUNTARY PAYMENT AGREEMENT 

Alderman McGrogan presented a proposed 15‐year extension of the existing voluntary payment agreement between Trinity Christian College and the City, in which the College agrees to pay monies for City services received by the College, but for which it doesn't pay property taxes as a tax‐exempt entity.

Alderman Key moved to approve the Extension Of And Amendment To Voluntary Payment Agreement, seconded by Alderman Bylut. On a voice vote, the motion passed unanimously.

NEW BUSINESS‐NONE 

PUBLIC COMMENT‐NONE 

CLOSED SESSION 

Alderman Key moved to go into closed session for the purpose of discussing collective bargaining matters, seconded by Alderman Bylut. Upon a call of the roll, the motion passed on the following vote:

Yeas: 3‐Bylut, Key, McGrogan.

Nays: 0‐None.

Absent: 1‐McGovern.

The Committee adjourned to Closed Session at 6:13 p.m.

The Committee returned to Open Session from Closed Session at 7:12 p.m.

ADJOURNMENT 

There being no further business, Alderman Key made a motion to adjourn, seconded by Alderman Bylut. On a voice vote, the motion passed unanimously.

Meeting adjourned at 7:12 p.m.
