The Tinley Park Village Board of Trustees recently hired three new employees to the Police Department, Street Division and Water Department.
During their Nov. 1 meeting, which was streamed on YouTube, trustees agreed to hire Lynn Fell as police clerk matron, and Zack Tatar and Julio Ayala as maintenance technicians for the Streets Division and Water Department, respectively. Police Chief Matthew Walsh lauded Fell, who has worked part-time for the department and has recently started in her new position.
“I just want to thank everybody,” Walsh said. “Since she's been here, she quickly grasped all aspects of the job and it's done a great job for us, so we're happy to bring her onboard full time.”
During the session, it was noted that Fell joined the department in a part-time capacity in January and immediately proved herself. She expressed an interest in the full-time role and Walsh said she possesses the needed qualifications for the role.
Tatar will work as a maintenance technician for the Streets Division, having started working with the Public Works Division in 2021, showing proficiency in working with heavy equipment and other duties related to the division, it was noted during the session. Trustees learned that he possesses a Class B commercial driver’s license, and was approved to start in his new role on Nov. 14.
Ayala is the newest maintenance technician for the Water Department, and according to the session has more than 20 years of experience in plumbing and construction, including five years in a municipality setting. Trustees learned during the session that Ayala holds a Class B commercial driver’s license. He began his new role on Nov. 7.
