Last week, five separate FOIA lawsuits were filed in Cook County Circuit Court naming the Village of Dolton as Defendant. It is our understanding after speaking to residents, that Dolton employee (or contractor depending on what day it is and who is answering) Keith Freeman and Mayor Henyard have instructed other employees to not answer FOIA requests, nor give information to the Clerk so she could answer them.

This is what happens when unqualified people are given high-paying jobs by a mayor who was elected by 10.9 % of the registered voters, and who appears to be more interested in partying on the taxpayer’s dime, than actually complying with state law.

The Freedom of Information Act was enacted to ensure people had timely access to all information about their government.

Dolton is no different, even though it is more than obvious they think they can skirt the requirements in the FOIA law.

Below are the five FOIA lawsuits – we believe more on forthcoming after hearing from some residents of Dolton:

Lawsuit 1

Lawsuit 2

Lawsuit 3

Lawsuit 4

Lawsuit 5
