City of Palos Hills City Council met Sept. 15.

1) CALL TO ORDER: Mayor Bennett called the City Council Meeting to order at 7:00p.m.
2) PLEDGE TO THE FLAG: Mayor Bennett led everyone in the Pledge to the Flag.
3) ROLL CALL: Upon roll call the following Aldermen responded:

4) QUORUM: Mayor Bennett declared a quorum was present.
5) READING OF THE PREVIOUS MEETING MINUTES:
Ald. Kleefisch MOVED to approve the City Council Meeting Minutes dated, September 1, 2022 as presented. SECONDED by Ald. Price. Upon roll call the following Ald. voted:

Ald. Abed MOVED to set the date for a Plan Commission hearing to be held on Monday, October 17th at 7:00pm. This is for consideration of a Lot Split for the property located at 10058 S. Roberts Rd. SECONDED by Ald. Pasek. Upon roll call the following Ald. voted:

Ald. O’Connell read a report from Commissioner Lesnicki which included building/construction updates of commercial projects and upcoming businesses including the Salon Suites at 10540 S. Harlem Avenue as well as the progress of the new Pita Falafel, the old Sid’s building on Southwest Highway as well as residential projects such as the townhomes at 8300 W. 111th Street and the 5 unit townhomes at 9037 W. 111th Street.
E. FINANCE:
Ald. Lebarre MOVED to authorize the expenditure of a Vendor Warrant dated, September 15, 2022 in the amount of $591,074.53. SECONDED by Ald. Brachman. Upon roll call the following Ald. voted:

GOLF:
Ald. Pasek reported that the Golf course is looking its best, and reported that in the near future new carts will be purchased.
H. PLANNING & ZONING:
In the absence of Ald. Nowak there was no report this evening.
I. PUBLIC SAFETY:
Ald. Kleefisch presented and read the Palos Hills Police Department Activity Report for the month of August 2022 as follows: 166 traffic tickets were issued, 82 parking tickets, 18 misdemeanor complaints and no felony complaints, there were no criminal homicides, there were no robberies, there was 1 aggravated assault and battery; there were 3 burglaries, there were 3 thefts, there was 1 motor vehicle theft, no arsons, and our CID Division handled a total of 36 cases.
Ald. Kleefisch reported that a check was received from Consolidated High School District 230 in the amount of $1,566.00.
Mayor Bennett commended our Police Department and our Detective Division.
J. PUBLIC WORKS/SEWER & WATER:
Ald. Brachman had no report this evening.
10) REPORTS OF SPECIAL COMMITTEES: None this evening.
11) UNFINISHED BUSINESS: None this evening.
12) MISCELLANEOUS BUSINESS: Ald. Pasek asked about the possibility of changing the Ordinance for businesses and add Driver Education schools to that Ordinance to avoid having a Plan Commission hearing. Mayor Bennett stated that can’t be done because any school is under a Special Use and any plaza in town needs consideration of parking involved with schools.
13) ADJORNMENT:
No further business, Mayor Bennett entertained a motion to adjourn. SO MOVED by Ald. Stratton. SECONDED by Ald. Pasek. By voice vote, all voted AYE.
