Cook County Sheriff tweeted the following:

"Our Sheriff's Police K9s & their handlers have had a very busy year, getting called in nearly 5,000 times to locate persons, explosives, narcotics, or conduct area searches. Our narcotic & explosive detection dogs seized 780 lbs of narcotics, totaling $1.9 million.
