City of Oak Forest Economic Advisory Council met Nov. 2.
Here are the minutes provided by the council:
1. Call to Order at 12:16 p.m.

2. Approval of Minutes from July 6, 2022.
With Chairman Vacha absent, Member Gericke was nominated to act as the Chair Pro-Tem for this particular meeting.
Member Hosman made a motion to approve the minutes from July 6, 2022 with no proposed changes. Motion seconded by Member Emmett. Minutes were approved by a vote of 5-0, with three absent.
3. New Business
a. Class 8 Incentive – Oak Forest Custard, LLC. (Culver’s) – 5410 W. 159th Street
Director Cage presented the application from Culver’s regarding their Class 8 tax incentive request for the 5410 W. 159th Street location. He including some details on the project, such as; building elevations, site plan layout and other such project details.
Member Martello asked if the Class 8 incentive request is common in other towns nearby. Director Cage confirmed that this is common in neighboring communities.
Member Martello asked if this is a necessary incentive for the business to move forward. Director Cage confirmed that the taxes were too high for them to move forward without this request.
After some general comments on the project, Member Malecky-Iles made a motion to approve the Class 8 Tax Incentive for Culver’s at the 5410 W. 159th Street location. The motion seconded by Member Hosman. The motion passed by a vote of 5-0, with three members absent.
4. Project Update
a. Director Cage provided updates on various projects in town including the following city projects and new businesses:
- Oak Forest Family Dental - 6154 159th Street
- Holiday Inn Express
- Carefree Village Senior Development NW corner of 151st and Cicero
- Numero Uno - Demolition
- 157th and Cicero (Mixed Use and Townhomes)
- 167th and Cicero (Logistics Facility)
- Oak Forest Gateway Commercial Buildings
Member Hosman made a motion to adjourn. Motion seconded by Member Emmett. The meeting was adjourned at 12:46 p.m.
