ON FIRE TIGERS SHOOT THE LIGHTS OUT TO BEAT JAGUARS 111-67

Olivet Nazarene started fast and finished fast hitting 71% field goals (44-62) and drilling 13-20 three-pointers (65%) in an impressive 111-67 win on the road Wednesday night in GSU's ARC.

GSU (8-19, 8-11 CCAC) came into the game hoping to clinch a playoff post-season spot with a ninth conference win. Those plans were derailed by hot-shooting ONU (21-6, 16-3) and the Jaguars remain in an 8th place tie with Holy Cross (13-14, 8-11 CCAC).

If both teams end with 8 wins, GSU owns the tie-breaker with two narrow wins this season over Holy Cross. Trinity International (15-12, 10-9, 7th place ECAC) hosts Holy Cross on Saturday in the final day of the regular season.

Tai Walters-Whitaker led three GSU players scoring in double figures with 16 points, 3 rebounds and two assists.

Jalen Levy scored 14 points (6-9 field goals) in 26 minutes played and Kyle Jackson scored 11 points, had 2 rebounds, 2 steals and 3 blocked shots for the Jaguars in the lopsided home loss.

The Jaguars were ice-cold shooting on Wednesday night with a 35.8% field goal mark (24-67) and 6-19 threes (31.6%). GSU was out-rebounded 47-21 in the loss.

GSU is next at Roosevelt University (19-8, 16-3, tied for 1st/CCAC), Saturday, 3 p.m. start in Chicago to end the regular season. CCAC post season playoffs begin next Tuesday, February 21.
