Q4 2022 Recap: 29 parolees from Cook County convicted of financial crimes or fraud set for release

There were 29 offenders convicted of financial crimes or fraud living in Cook County released on parole during the fourth quarter of 2022, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by the South Cook News.

The data shows 23 men and six women were among the parolees. The median age of the parolees sentenced for financial crimes or fraud was 33. The youngest parolee was a 20-year-old man sentenced in 2022, and the oldest was a 70-year-old woman sentenced in 2022.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Gregory J. Harris. He was convicted in 2021 when he was 31 years old. He is now 33.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The following table shows how many offenders convicted of financial crimes or fraud were paroled during the fourth quarter of 2022 in each Illinois county.
