Chris Chelios, a former Blackhawks player and three-time Stanley Cup winner, has put his Malibu home on the market with an asking price of $75 million. Chelios said he moved to Paradise Cove to find a secluded home for his family, and it was the perfect place for them.

“I was looking for a place to get away with the family. No question, Paradise Cove is the best stretch of beach in all of Malibu," Chelios told the New York Post. "For me and my family, there was no better place we could have chosen to spend our time. The privacy is second to none.”

Chelios, who currently works as an ESPN analyst, purchased the beachfront home in 2003 for $6 million and has owned it for the last 20 years, Sports Illustrated reported. The 3,795-square foot includes four bedrooms and four and a half baths, as well as 90 feet of beach frontage. Chelios played 26 seasons in the NHL, during which time he was named to 11 All-Star teams. The defenseman won two Stanley Cups with the Red Wings and a third with the Canadiens.

Chelios also played on the Blackhawks team that advanced to the 1992 Stanley Cup Finals.

Chelios grew up in Evergreen Park and began skating at the age of 6 or 7 at Candy Cane Park on 99th Place, the Chicago Tribune reported. In his early skating career, he played for the Chicago Jesters, St. Jude Knights and the Chicago Saints.

"I still will claim, till the day I die, that I'm a Chicago kid," Chelios said.

As a freshman, Chelios started his year at Evergreen Park High School, but the school did not have a hockey team. His family had a tight budget, but a frequent patron of Chelios' father's business, the Blue Note Lounge on 103rd and Halsted, offered to help pay for Chelios to attend Mount Carmel so he could continue his hockey career there.

At Mount Carmel, Chelios played on both the JV and varsity teams as a freshman. His teammate Craig Ferguson, who went on to become Mount Carmel's head coach, said of Chelios, "He was really, really talented. The perfect skater, he really understood the game of hockey. He had a great head for the game."
