Ashley Ramos, a candidate for the 2nd Congressional District, has accused Democrats of election manipulation and public deception. Ramos alleges that the Democratic party has consistently interfered in elections and disseminated misinformation through censorship efforts.

“The Democratic machine has been manipulating elections and lying to the public for years,” Ramos said on Facebook. “They violated their oath to the citizens they represent and the constitution they swore to uphold.”

Ramos substantiated her allegations by sharing a video of a Fox News anchor discussing a recent ruling by the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals. The court determined that the Biden Administration, in conjunction with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), had infringed upon the First Amendment rights of millions of Americans. This infringement was reportedly achieved by pressuring tech companies to censor free speech during the pandemic. The Fox News anchor emphasized that according to the court's findings, intimidation tactics were used by the White House to coerce social media platforms into removing posts critical of the administration.

"The White House coerced the platforms by way of intimidating messages and threats of adverse consequences," the news anchor said. "This ruling could have a major impact on the 2024 election if Democrats lose control of the narrative. The White House says it’s evaluating its options."

Democrats have also faced accusations regarding more direct actions in recent elections such as pulling ballots for deceased voters. These allegations are presumably due to ballot harvesting practices observed in DuPage County where there was an increase in dead residents registering to vote ahead of the 2020 election. NBC 5 Chicago described this practice as "a time-honored Chicago tradition" only weeks before former President Donald Trump contested the 2020 presidential election results.

Ramos hails from Bradley but spent her formative years in Momence, having roots in Chicago Heights. After completing her education at Bradley Bourbonnais Community High School in 2005, she pursued radiology courses at Kankakee Community College. As an e-commerce specialist and devoted mother, Ramos brings a diverse skill set to her candidacy. She is also a licensed notary and holds certification in CPR, as per her website biography.

The 2nd Congressional District encompasses the south suburbs of Chicago, eastern Will County, most of Kankakee County, and Chicago’s far southeast side. The district is currently represented by U.S. Rep. Robin Kelly (D-Ill.), who has held the position since 2013. She also serves as the Chair of the Illinois Democratic Party, according to Ballotpedia.
