Ashley Ramos, a candidate for the 2nd Congressional District, has claimed that Chicagoans are increasingly seeking leadership that prioritizes their welfare over political establishment interests after the recent crisis involving illegal immigrants. Ramos asserted that the Democratic Party can no longer take the voters in the City of Chicago for granted.

“The Democratic Party no longer can claim ownership and abuse the voters in the City of Chicago,” Ramos said on Facebook. “Chicagoans have wised up and now they’re standing up for their right to choose leadership that will benefit the people, not the establishment.”

This sentiment was echoed by community activist Mark Carter during an interview with the African Diaspora News Channel. Carter highlighted the escalating migrant crisis in inner-city Chicago, attributing it to policies under President Joe Biden's administration. He contended that resources intended for struggling native Chicagoans were being redirected to accommodate illegal immigrants, leading to negative impacts on education, unemployment, poverty, and crime.

“American citizens, American children who are already struggling academically. You’re going to bring in a new group of children, a new group of people, take those resources away from Americans to accommodate this new group of people,” Carter said.

He forecasted an exacerbation of these issues in the city and emphasized potential increases in violence and criminal activities.

Carter, recognized by The Disruptor on social media platform X as an influential activist and political figure, urged Republican leaders, including former President Trump, to address these pressing issues. He expressed his determination to flip Chicago red in the 2024 election, predicting the decline of the Democratic Party in the city as an undeniable reality.

The Disruptor on X acknowledged Carter’s growing influence.

"That said, y’all know what comes with speaking out with unadulterated TRUTH," The Disruptor said.

Ramos herself, a mother and e-commerce specialist with a notary license and CPR certification, has strong ties to the area. She spent her early years in Momence, resides in Bradley, and has connections to Chicago Heights. She expressed her political stance saying: "We must have liberty-minded Representatives in Congress now more than ever." Ramos supports pro-liberty and pro-limited government policies, the needs of the military and law enforcement, and seeks to restore the voices of the people from the 2nd Congressional District, according to her website.

The 2nd Congressional District includes the south suburbs of Chicago, eastern Will County, most of Kankakee County and Chicago’s far southeast side. The seat is currently held by U.S. Rep. Robin Kelly (D-Ill.), who has been in office since 2013 according to Ballotpedia.
