City of Blue Island Urban Forestry Board met June 18
Here is the agenda provided by the board:

• Roll Call
• Approval of March 20,2024 Minutes
• Old Business
◦ Forestry Management Plan approved-needed a translation to Spanish
◦ Community and Urban Grant final documents completed and submitted - check is in the mail
◦ Town Hall Meeting in April Recap
■ Let's rethink maybe offerings of focused green initiatives ie-Green Thumb Thursdays presentations or workshops
◦ Arbor Day and Completion of the 115 Tree Award from Wildlife Foundation's Chi/Cal Grant
• New Business
◦ IRA Grant Kick Off - public announcement was made on 6/10 - WooHoo!
■ First Quarter check is completed
■ RFBs will need to be sent out
■ Follow up with Open lands for staff trainings
■ Outreach and tablings to our community - maybe Green Thumb Thursdays or other catching verbage :)
◦ Oaktober Celebration - target area is the 3rd Ward, working with Openlands on this planting
◦ CRTI & Green Corps upcoming workdays
