2024 FLOCK/AXON LPR CAMERA ACTIVITY 

• YTD-23 hits 

• FLOCK activity includes citations, arrests, stolen vehicles and identification of vehicles used in other crimes. 

• Once fully operational, we will have a total of 9 LPR cameras. 

• Within the first week of activation, the Axon LPR system identified a stolen vehicle in town, leading to a felony arrest and recovery of the vehicle. 

OLD BUSINESS 

• Reference the Strong Armed Robbery of a disabled veteran at Jewel, the offenders have been arrested and charged accordingly. Our LPR camera were instrumental in identifying the offenders. 

• The Condor camera System if fully operational in the Municipal parking lot and is exceeding our expectations. Drug asset forfeiture funding will pay for the first year of the system. 

• An Illinois State Police LEADS audit of our criminal databases was conducted and no desecrations were noted. The department was found to be in full compliance all regulations and policies mandated by the State of Illinois. 

• Operational Plans for the 3rd & 4th of July, and the Classic Car Show were implemented accordingly with no unusual occurrences. 

• MOU's have been executed for Trinity Mental Health Services and Northeastern Illinois Regional Crime Laboratory for continued services with the department. 

• Illicit cigarettes, currency and a vehicle were seized from a local business reference unlawful sales. 

• Underage alcohol checks were conducted and several business were fined and the servers were cited with Serving Alcohol to Minors. Court dates are pending as well as a hearing with the Liquor Commissioner. 

• The 2024 Labor Day impaired motorist/distracted driving grant period commenced on Friday, August 16th.

NEW BUSINESS: 

• A contractual agreement has been reached with the Metropolitan Alliance of Police and administration regarding the use of our Body Worn Camera Systems. As of Friday, August 9, 2024, mandatory departmental use of the BWC's was executed. The State of Illinois mandated for our agency was date is January 1, 2025. 

• Installation of our Axon mobile camera system was installed. The BWC's, Tasers, and car cameras will now operate on the same platform. 

• Replacement of HSI 2020 Ford F-150 with a Toyota Forerunner. Lowest bid was from Oak Lawn Toyota. – See Attachment. 

• ORDINANCE - TO ADD NEW TITLE XIII: “GENERAL OFFENSES", CHAPTER 131, "OFFENSES AGAINST PERSONS", SECTION 131.06, "UNLAWFUL VISITATION OR PARENTING TIME INTERFERENCE

• PROPOSED ORDINANCE REGULATING PUBLIC CAMPING WITHIN OUR JURISDICTION

CORRESPONDENCE/EMPLOYEE RECOGNITION 

• Congratulations to Officer Marcinowski for being recognized by the Alliance Against Intoxicated Motorists (AAIM). AAIM has sent Forrest a Certificate of Appreciation for his DUI enforcement. 

• Office Joshua Casey received several compliments from an area resident who was involved in a car accident. She stated that he was very professional, efficient, and understanding and explained the whole process. He had a genuine concern for both parties involved .She went on to state that he's an asset to the industry. 

• On Tuesday, July 16, 2024, Officers Grady Connell and Jake Wiegand were presented with Life Saving Awards related to a critical incident they responded to.

• Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Task Force Officer Mikolajczak was commended by the Arizona Field Division of the DEA associated to a narcotics/firearm seizure which occurred in Chicago. 

• Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) recognized TFO E. Czajkowski commended for his involvement in a murder for hire investigation. 

• Special thanks to the men and women of the department for making our 2024 National Night Out a huge success.
