FOIA Request to City of Hickory Hills Regarding Unpaid Parking Violations on October 28, 2024.
In a bid to uphold transparency and hold public institutions accountable, South Cook News has sent a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request to the City of Hickory Hills. The request, dated October 28, 2024, seeks information about all unpaid parking violations in the city.
As part of our ongoing commitment to comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at South Cook News are seeking a list of all parking violations currently unpaid. This list should include the name of the offender, their address, the amount due for each violation, the date of violation, and total due.
Access to these public records is essential for us to fulfill our professional responsibilities. As a media organization, it is our duty to provide transparency to the public and ensure that public institutions are held accountable for their actions.
Given our role in disseminating information to the public, we believe we are eligible for a fee waiver as a media professional under the Illinois Freedom of Information Act.
