Brian J. Nichols, Nature Enthusiast and Retired Businessman, Dies at 70

Brian J. Nichols, aged 70, of Frankfort, IL, passed away on October 28, 2024. He is survived by his loving wife Sandy, mother LaVerne (late John), sister Colleen, brother Jay (Kathy), and various in-laws, including the late Phylis and Claude Martinez, Sharon Devos, Tony (Sheila), Claude (Marge), and Joe (Carrie) Martinez, along with many nieces and nephews.

Brian attended Most Holy Redeemer grade school, Bishop Quarter Junior Military Academy, and graduated from Brother Rice High School in 1972. He earned a degree in Applied Science from Moraine Valley Community College in 1974. In 1981, he met Sandy, with whom he shared a passion for nature, photography, and travel, capturing the beauty of autumn colors through their lens. Brian was also enthusiastic about history, archaeology, weather, and hiking. He had a deep affection for his pets.

Retired from Badger Murphy, their family business, Brian's visitation will be on Friday from 4-8 p.m., with the funeral service on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at Robert J. Sheehy & Sons Funeral Home in Orland Park, IL. Interment will be at St. Benedict Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to P.A.W.S. Animal Shelter in Tinley Park, IL would be appreciated.
