ORLAND PARK, IL - Elizabeth "Betty" A. Vlahakis (nee McCartney), aged 86, passed away. She was the beloved wife of the late George M. Vlahakis and the loving mother of Michael E. and Eugene G. Vlahakis. Betty was the cherished grandmother of Emily M. and Joshua M. Vlahakis.

She was the proud daughter of the late Eugene and Frances (nee Walsh) McCartney, and the dear sister of the late Margaret (late Edward) Weber, Frances (late William) Sorfleet, Robert (Betty) McCartney, Lucille (late Robert) Kreitling, and Thomas (late Eileen) McCartney. Betty was also a fond aunt of many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 12:30 p.m. at Robert J. Sheehy & Sons Funeral Home in Orland Park, IL. Interment will be at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer's Association would be appreciated.
