City of Calumet City Finance Council Committee of the Whole met Jan. 28

Here is the agenda provided by the committee:

A Special City Council and Finance Committee is being called for Tuesday, January 28, 2025 at 6:00 P.M. to be held at City Hall at 204 Pulaski Road, Calumet City, IL. To participate in the public comments portion of the meeting, please email your comments to mayorsoffice@calumetcity.org.

Please limit your words to 300 words or less. Any public comments must be submitted by 10:00am on Monday, January 27, 2025.

The purpose of the meeting is for consideration of the following matters:

1. Roll Call

2. Public Comment

3. Mayor’s Report

4. Discussion and action on Motion to approve payment to Hoosier Printing for January 2025 Newsletter, in the amount of $52,106.00 and direct City Treasurer Tarka to remit payment from account #01099-52351. January Newsletter is a combination of two citywide mailings: Year End Review and Newsletter.

5. Discussion and review of 2024 Public Safety Reports (1) Crime Stat reports and logistics (2) Police and (3) Fire Department and (4) ESDA

6. Discussion and action on hiring status, expected hires and potential retirement.

7. Discussion and action on status of equipment and 2025 acquisitions. Further, new equipment innovations.

8. Discussion and action on sot spotter expansions and Camera expansions.

9. Discussion and approval of Crossing Guards for the City of Calumet City for the safety of Children for the 2025 season.

10. Part and/or all of the meeting may be held in Executive Session on employment/litigation matters.
